Join Us

All team members are volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a member, we are looking for people who already have an interest in outdoor activities – walking, climbing, running … and have the essential items of personal kit and skills to enable them to spend their time out of doors in comfort and safety. Personal team equipment will be provided once full membership is achieved.

You will need to commit to a period of training in rescue and or medical techniques prior to becoming a full team member.

You should live or work reasonably close to our area and be available for call outs, often at inconvenient times as well as being willing to help with the more mundane tasks needed for the day to day running of the team.

What to do:

Mountain rescue is a complex business, you will have lots of questions and require lots of information tailored to your needs. We also need to explain how we work and make sure you understand what is involved.

If you think you might be a good fit, please contact us and we’ll be in touch to discuss the way forward. The team has a membership of about 50 people and come with a wide variety of interests and skills. We do not expect that everyone will always be available for call outs, but it is important that we know what their availability is.
